Trump’s tariff threat likely to be watered down

Incoming US president Donald Trump is “highly unlikely” to impose the level of tariffs he promoted in his election campaign because it would damage the country’s economy, according to Craigs Investment Partners investment director Mark Lister.
Trump, who won a decisive victory, has proposed new tariffs of 10-20 percent on most foreign goods, and imports from China could bear an additional 60 percent tariff.
