rare cut
of
Hawaiian Koa
because it is Quartersawn and large. Many koa boards and koa billets available online are narrow and short. This is an unusual combination of length and width.
There are a few checks and punky areas on the back of one of the boards that should be easy to fill. It are visible in the pictures if you zoom in.

: Due to limitations on harvesting in Hawaii,
availability is scarce
. However, it is not an endangered wood.
Koa is known for it rich warm gold/red/brown colors, incandescent grain, contrasting ribbon streaks of colors within its growth rings and stunning figure. It has a unique chatoyancy.
Generally speaking, Koa machines and sands well. It looks magnificent with an oil finish.
